The following piece “Okanagan View” is a composition that came about when I (Eline) wanted to practice the harp at my sister’s house in Canada by the large living room window but instead found myself distracted by the beautiful view of Okanagan Lake.
The magnificent nature is a language of God and reveals His presence and omnipotence. Nowhere can we be closer to God than in the work that His hands have created for our joy. We can always have an open eye for it, enjoy it and praise and thank the Creator.
In this piece, individual elements of nature are set to music, such as the birdsong, the calmly flowing water, the sunrays dancing on the water, and the mountains rising in the background.
What started as an original solo piece evolved over time into a harp duet, then a trio, and finally a harp quartet. It can be performed in any of these forms.
“O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalm 104,24
This pedal harp piece is available as a PDF download for solo, duet, trio, and quartet.
